SAN FRANCISCO FEBRUARY 18, 2008

Sue and Jan

Went to SF with my friend Jan to visit her Cuz Suzie. We went to lunch at Kitaro on Geary for Japanese food. It was good. Then headed to Chinatown just to look around and get some bao and flat fortune cookies at the factory.

CANVAS & TRANSPARENCY FEBRUARY 3, 2008

I took this class at the Stamp Art Shoppe http://www.thestampartshoppe.com/. The teacher was Evelyn Finley http://elfartistry.com/ and it was great fun. We painted a canvas and cut out holes to insert transparencies. I used a sunflower in the larger hole and cut and tore the canvas and rolled it back and glued it down. There are blue boats in the smaller hole with gold ribbon glued around for a frame. There is sea glass with a transparency behind it and wire wrapped. Stamping and other transparencies glued on and lots of old jewelry hanging from the canvas. We took old baling wire and twisted it and nailed it to the canvas frame with large staples. The butterfly is also a transparency that I cut out and bent in half to give it some dimension. There is a small tag shape tile with a transparency also glued on with another dimensional butterfly.
